Ways of using essential oils at home


The sticky grease on stove tops, kitchen shelves and tiles are a common concern for all. Try this remedy – add one part of vinegar and 5-7 drops of lemongrass oil to three parts of filtered water. You can also add 10-15 drops of lemongrass oil to a gallon of carpet cleaning solution to brighten carpets and rugs, pull out stains and leave a fresh smell in your room.

essential-oils (1)Lavender has soothing and mood-enhancing properties. Make an environment-friendly room spray by mixing lavender essential oil and water in a spray bottle. Sprinkle drops on sheets, pillows and towels to reduce anxiety and fight stale smells.

Add 1 cup of white vinegar, 1 tablespoon of castile soap, 1/4 cup baking soda and 15-20 drops of lavender essential oil to a bucket of water for mopping the floor.

An efficient glass cleanser can be made by combining 250 ml of water, 2 ml of dish-washing liquid and 5 drops of tea tree essential oil. Also, adding a few drops of tea tree essential oil to your laundry detergent imparts a fresh, therapeutic scent to your clothes.

For cleaning combs, fill a container with one-and-a-half cups each of water, distilled white vinegar and 20 drops of eucalyptus essential oil. Soak the combs and brushes in the container for 20 minutes before rinsing them.

To create a refreshing aroma in your bathroom, prepare a refreshing spray that fights breeding germs as well. In a spray bottle, mix 4 cups of water, 2 drops of rosemary, 3 drops of eucalyptus and 6 drops of peppermint essential oil. Shake the spray bottle well before use. Spray on fixtures, sinks, tiles and woodwork.
